My debut novel ‘Vagabond’ moved into #2 position on ‘What’s Hot’ iTunes Australia today! It’s a nice feeling to see my book on the charts amongst some very talented authors, and I hope that it continues to reach people far and wide around the globe. My fan page is attracting more attention lately, mainly from the USA which is exactly what I was hoping for- I’m a fan of metrics as it gives me a surprise every time I read into the countries who have mostly been looking me up. My website is getting a lot of hits this week from the UK, Chile and Brazil. I find it fascinating as I don’t control, nor can I influence where my visitors and fans come from- for somebody living in a land as far away as Australia, it definitely makes the world feel smaller. Writing is something I love to do and I hope that you continue to follow me, so that I can share my stories with you constantly.
In two weeks I depart for Europe, and I plan on coming back with even more inspiration for my future novels. I enjoy meshing elements of existentialism with magical realism, in real worlds that I have explored and experienced. My love of travel and seeking out hidden alley ways and crooked paths are what drives me to share my stories with everyone- it might be growing up in Australia with a European background, but getting out and seeing what’s in the world, and meeting new people is what it’s all about. More often than not, I find that it is the people you meet who make the place you visit, and not the other way around.
To everybody who plans on travelling in 2012, I wish you the very best and safest of journeys, and who knows? I might bump into you along the way…Preferably below, in Granada, Spain
